You will be required to prepare a few documents for us beforehand: a colored copy of your passport, passport-sized digital photo, up-to-date CV and two professional references (with contact details).

We’ll also ask you for a work offer or a letter of intent from a twofour54 business partner, but if you don’t have one, don’t panic…

Instead, you can submit a business plan, including a brief personal profile, details of the work you’ve already carried out, as well as showcasing the work you wish to conduct within the zone and with the twofur54 partners as well as an estimate of how much income you expect to make.

Once we have all this, we’ll review your application and get back to you with feedback for correction if required and a decisions on the success of your license application.

The next step has also been digitalised to coincide with social distancing restrictions. We’ll send you a number of forms via email and ask you to send us copies of your Emirates ID, visa cancellation or tourist visa, and your preference with regards to your health insurance.

Your visa will then be processed (either in five or 10 business days depending on whether you had paid for a normal or urgent service), and as a final step, we’ll also ask you to come meet us at the twofour54 office and go for a quick medical examination.

Then, before you know it, we’ll be contacting you to come and pick up your passport, new freelance work permit and Emirates ID and you’ll be free to start creating and working as a freelancer in Abu Dhabi.
