twofour54 ‘Creative Campus’ inspires American University of Sharjah students to explore opportunities in media

twofour54’s academic outreach program has reached 400+ students at six different universities since its launch in September

twofour54’s recently launched academic outreach program visited the American University of Sharjah (AUS), one of the leading educational institutions in the region, last week. The program, called ‘Creative Campus’, showcases how students can explore a career in the UAE’s fast growing media and creative industries.

Representatives from twofour54 presented AUS students with a glimpse of the many exciting opportunities in media and entertainment, available to them through twofour54, including: the twofour54 Cartoon Network Animation Academy, the twofour54 Gaming Academy in partnership with Ubisoft, twofour54’s vocational training program ‘intaji’, twofour54 creative lab, as well as the freelancer and internship programs.

Launched in September, twofour54’s ‘Creative Campus’ roadshow has already visited six of the UAE’s top universities in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah, including the Higher Colleges of Technology Men’s and Women’s colleges, the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education and Training Institute (ADVETI), and both campuses of Khalifa University, reaching over 400 students. More institutions will be visited during the upcoming months covering the other Emirates and the Western region.

To date, over 250 students have signed up to twofour54’s creative lab community after attending the presentation. creative lab community members can get involved in different media projects via internships on productions; they can tap into to production expertise, mentoring, use of equipment and funding; and they can gain access to #thelab – a dedicated space for all creative lab community members at twofour54’s Abu Dhabi campus.

The twofour54 Academic Outreach team said:

Since twofour54 was established five years ago, interest in media and creative careers has grown considerably. twofour54’s Abu Dhabi campus is now home to over 200 local, regional and international media and entertainment companies and +2,200 jobs have been created, opening up a wealth of career opportunities for young Arabs.
