‘Al Ikhwa’ Wins Best Long Production at BroadcastPro Middle East Awards

Clacket Production announced that the production drama ‘Al Ikhwa’ or ‘The Brothers’ has won the best long production in the BroadcastPro Middle East Awards earlier this month. The hit series, which was composed of 116 episodes, was produced in Abu Dhabi in cooperation with twofour54 intaj.

The series was shortlisted for the award among 70 other shows that all competed in the same category. The fourth edition of the Awards was attended by Eyad Al Najjar, Group Chairman of ‘Al Najjar’ and Executive Director of ‘Clacket Production’, who received the award at a ceremony in Dubai.

The series ‘Al Ikhwa’ taken from the Mexican drama of the same name, was filmed in several places in Abu Dhabi and tells the story of five conflicted adopted sons of a wealthy business man. The show features some of the most prominent TV stars from across the Arab world including Basel Khayyat, Qais Shaikh Najeeb, Taim Hassan, Karmen Lubbos, Ahmad Fahmi,   Nadin Al Rassi and Mohammad Hadaki.

Commenting on this achievement Paul Baker, Executive Director, twofour54 intaj commented: “This award reinforces twofour54’s growing reputation as the regional leader for delivering high quality, Arabic content productions. The Abu Dhabi Film Commission’s rebate scheme is a key reason for both regional and international productions to choose Abu Dhabi over other Middle Eastern production locations, and Al Ikhawa is a great example of how the scheme is adding real value to the industry and the audiences it serves.” Having provided an extensive range of production services for the filming of Al Ikhwa, twofour54 intaj continues to be a key player in the growth of Abu Dhabi’s production infrastructure.

Eyyad Al Najjar also said: “We are delighted to have won this award. This achievement is nothing but evidence of the success of the series and the impact it had on audiences across the Middle East. We are always keen on introducing new developments and ideas to long-Arab productions by adopting new approaches to broaden our work.”

Al Najjar added: “twofour54’s involvement has contributed to the success of the series. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. We wish to thank everyone involved for their tireless effort and support.”

The BroadcastPro Middle East Awards, which are held in partnership with The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU), cover a broad range of categories to reward excellence in various fields across the broadcast workflow, from production and post-production to traditional broadcast and new media platforms. The winners are chosen by a panel of judges from across the MENA with varying technical skills within broadcast to ensure it is fully competent to judge the nominations.

Other award categories distributed this year included innovative production, broadcast project, MENA broadcast trendsetter, innovative project, MENA system integrator, MENA special recognition, innovative production and outstanding MENA initiative.

twofour54 has attracted a number of major film productions in the past 12 months including Star Wars: Episode VII, Fast and Furious 7, Bang Bang and Deliver Us from Evil. In addition, global television programmes such as the Bold and the Beautiful and BBC’s Top Gear have been filmed in the Emirate.
