Abu Dhabi through the lens of Michael Bay

Abu Dhabi’s media hub twofour54 today released a stunning short film directed by iconic filmmaker Michael Bay showcasing the beauty and diversity of Abu Dhabi’s landscape.

While shooting Netflix’s ‘6 Underground’ in Abu Dhabi, Bay embarked on a helicopter adventure to capture Abu Dhabi’s uniquely stunning landscape and landmarks after being impressed at how the Emirate combines modernity with tradition.

In the video – which can be viewed on twofour54’s YouTube channel – Bay showcases the architectural masterpiece Louvre Abu Dhabi, the luxurious Emirates Palace hotel, Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque – a phenomenal architectural work of art that combines different Islamic architectural schools, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, the first Ferrari-branded theme park and home to the world’s fastest roller coaster, as well as the stunning dunes of Liwa desert, one of the most adventurous places on Earth.

Bay and members of the cast and crew of ‘6 Underground’, including star Ryan Reynolds, spent almost a month in the UAE shooting key scenes for the film across 24 diverse locations, which not only doubled for a fictional Middle Eastern country but also Hong Kong, Las Vegas, Nigeria and Afghanistan. The film benefitted from Abu Dhabi Film Commission’s 30% cashback rebate while twofour54 Abu Dhabi provided full production services, including location assistance, permits and suppliers as well as catering, accommodation, travel and transportation.
