Bollywood superstar Salman Khan gives Abu Dhabi officials an exclusive tour of Tiger Zinda Hai set

Bollywood icon Salman Khan has welcomed senior Abu Dhabi officials to the set of Tiger Zinda Hai, which is being shot in the Emirate.

The tour was organised by twofour54 and Yas Raj Films and attended by HE Sheikh Abdulla Bin Mohamed Al Hamed – Chairman of Energy Authority and a member of the Executive Council, HE. Dr Fahad Matar Al Neyadi – Director General of the General Secretariat of the Executive Council / Board Member, HE Saif Al Hajeri – Chairman of Department of Economic Development and a member of the Executive Council, HE Mohamed Najm Al Qubaisi – Director at the Office of His Highness Vice Chairman of the Executive Council, Mr. Humaid Al Mansoori – Director of the Government Communication Office of the GSEC in Abu Dhab, in the presence of H.E. Maryam Al Mheiri, CEO of twofour54 and Abu Dhabi’s Media Zone Authority.

Tiger Zinda Hai is a sequel to the blockbuster movie Ek Tha Tiger and is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. Starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, the Yash Raj Films production is Abu Dhabi’s longest feature film project to date. It has a filming schedule of 65 days and a 300-person production team from India, US, UK and the MENA region.

H.E. Maryam Al Mheiri, CEO of twofour54 and Abu Dhabi’s Media Zone Authority, said, “Abu Dhabi has been home to some of the world’s biggest grossing productions of all time, attracting major Hollywood and Bollywood feature films as well as popular Arabic TV shows.

“It was a great pleasure to accompany representatives from various leading Abu Dhabi entities on a fascinating tour of the Tiger Zinda Hai set, and to host Salman Kahn in the capital. The making of Tiger Zinda Hai has been another successful production process and we are looking forward to the film’s release later this year.”

The production is benefiting from Abu Dhabi Film Commission’s 30 percent rebate, while twofour54’s Film and TV Services Division is providing production services.

As part of the agreement, twofour54 and Yash Raj Films have built a 20,000 sq. metre set on twofour54’s backlot in Khalifa Industrial Zone (KIZAD).

The film is expected to have its cinematic release on December 22, 2017.

Tiger Zinda Hai is the latest in a number of international films and television productions that have embraced Abu Dhabi as a destination, adding to the Emirate’s production industry credentials. These include: Dishoom, Baby, Bang Bang, Furious 7, Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Deliver Us from Evil.
