twofour54, the commercial arm of the Media Zone Authority – Abu Dhabi, today confirmed the successful completion of filming for the upcoming blockbuster Bollywood film, Bang Bang, starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif.

“Abu Dhabi’s popularity as a destination to produce films has grown beyond Hollywood to include Bollywood – this is another step forward in the emirate’s emergence as an international filming and production hub,” said Noura Al Kaabi, the Chief Executive Officer of twofour54. “At our campus, we are equipped to provide world-class production and post-production services and facilities, even to the industry’s biggest blockbuster films.”

Noura added: “We would like to thank the team at Fox Star Studios for entrusting us as the local producer for the film and to all the Abu Dhabi Government entities who assisted in the production, especially the Abu Dhabi Police, Abu Dhabi Municipality, the Department of Transport, Abu Dhabi Civil Defence and Abu Dhabi Motor Sport Management. Their unparalleled logistical and on-the-ground support ensured a safe and secure execution of all movie stunts across all filming locations in the Emirate.”

The movie is one of the biggest Bollywood’s biggest productions of the year and is scheduled for release in October 2, 2014 at over 4,500 screens for an approximately audience of 50 million.

Bang Bang – a partnership between Fox Star Studios and twofour54 – is the first Bollywood film produced in Abu Dhabi. Filming started early May, and took place at various locations in Abu Dhabi including the Corniche, Liwa oasis, Hyatt Capital Gate Hotel, Qasr al Sarab, Emirates Palace and Yas Island. Abu Dhabi’s exceptional mixture of diverse locations, including striking landscapes and modern architecture combined with luxurious settings, has been immensely successful in drawing productions from all over the world.

Bang Bang is using the production services of twofour54 intaj, twofour54’s film and television services provider and benefiting from the Abu Dhabi Film Commission’s 30 percent production rebate in the Emirate.

The combination of outstanding facilities, services, and financial support has made Abu Dhabi one of the world’s most attractive locations to produce television programmes and films. Other major international film and TV productions to film in the Emirate this year include Fast & Furious 7, the latest installment of the globally popular action franchise, BBC’s Top Gear and Clacket Production’s “The Brothers”.
